Life changes

It has been a long time since I have posted or even checked blogs. This past year was very busy with my son starting to school full time and me going back to teaching.
Now it is summer and things are changing again....
1. I'm not going to teach next year
2. We are in the middle or working on house plans and hope to build after the first of the year. So I'm spending a lot of time shopping for house products and trying to decide what I want to put in the house.
3. I'm pregnant and having a GIRL!!!

I hope now that I'm unemployed and I will get back to blogging some. Over the next few weeks I hope to go through and check in on everyone's blogs that I have saved in my favorites and in bloglines.

If anyone has great suggestions for site to shop for "girlie" thing drop me a comment.

HELP

I know I'm a bad blogger, but things have been crazy with life this past year. I'm now unemployed. I'm not going back to teaching due to the fact that I'm going to work at hubby's office more and start building a house in late fall.

That is where I need help from any bloggers who still are willing to ready by little corner of the internet:
Please leave comments for websites with great pictures, design, ideas, etc for house stuff. I'm currently working on ideas for the master bathroom, master bedroom and the bonus room.

My current master bedroom is in black and white and I'm thinking when we build I want to change that up. I haven't been real lucky in finding websites with information like I'm looking for.

I'm sort of back. Hello if anyone still reads :)

WOW! I wasn't joking when I said I was taking a little break. To be honest I have been so busy with work and behind with housework I just haven't felt like I had the time to post.
I was sick most of January and February!
I have had a productive day. I got hubby to discuss house ideas and then I went through every little scrap that I have torn out of magazines and put them into clear sleeves to go in a binder. They are grouped by specific rooms or details. I'm very proud to have that done.

Teaching is going ok. I'm undecided at this point if I will go back next year. I love teaching but my "part-time" job has been a very "full-time" job and it hasn't left me much time for working at hubbies office or taking care of other things I need to get done, like working on my own business.

I have gained weight and miss my membership to the gym. I think when it gets a little warmer I may join again. My body has gone to total pot.

The little guy is growing like a weed. He is getting much taller but still rail thin just like his dad. Makes me ill being the fatty of the group :)

On another note:
I want to plant some trees on our lot before we ever build. If anyone has suggestions for pretty trees that don't require a lot of maintenance, doesn't do major shedding and possible has a color to it.... I would appreciate comments on types to look into.

I really have been wanting to do something creative but just haven't figured out what that is. I know that sounds weird but I haven't had inspiration yet.

I don't get time to watch much TV but I did catch the real housewives of orange county rap up or whatever they call the reunion show. So did Gretchen have a boyfriend while she was engaged to Jeff??
I also watched the RHS of new york that followed. Who is missing this year. Seems like someone didn't come back but I'm not for sure. Am I just crazy?

I have missed blogging and taking the time to read everyone elses. I'm going to start trying to find the time on the weekends.
Hope everyone is doing well and congrats to all the fellow bloggers who are pregnant or who already had babies!!!

PRAY FOR HARPER

Kelly Stamps of Kelly's Korner and her husband, Scott welcomed their daughter Harper into the world today. Harper is having problems and needs everyone to pray for her. Please take a moment to pray for this sweet family. I have followed Kelly's blog for over a year now and prayed along with many other blog readers that God would bless them with a child. Please pray that God heals their baby girl.

I know I'm taking a break from blogging but they need your prayers.

I have dropped off the earth

I have decided to take a little break from blogging due to the new job and everything else. I still try to check in from time to time to read other's blogs but at this time I don't have time to commit to mine. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
Hopefully I will be back sometime in the Spring.

WOW

I can't believe it has been so long since I blogged.
Work has been keeping me very busy. I just haven't had any time to stop and post, much less read other's blogs. I'm about a month behind.
We survived Halloween. My son was Shaggy from Scooby Doo.
I have almost all of my Christmas shopping done. I just need to order some pictures that I'm giving to grandparents with their other Christmas presents.
We are getting together with hubby's family tonight for Thanksgiving and my family tomorrow.
I'm going shopping on black Friday with a friend. I think we might do those early bird deals. Not for sure. I have never done those. Should be interesting if we do.
My tree has been up since last weekend but I only have on light. I haven't slowed down to put the ornaments and everything else on the tree.
I baked all day yesterday making cookies, pumpkin pie, cobbler, red neck potatoes and cornbread dressing. I have never in my life made dressing. I thought for a first attempt it turned out OK. It needed my broth and seasoning.
Most of my gifts are wrapped and sitting under the tree.
I ordered my Christmas cards yesterday. I'm not sure how great the picture is going to turn out but at least that is checked off my list.
I have really missed blogging and reading everyone else's blog but life has been consumed with my new job.
I went for my yearly check up and had lost 9 pounds. My goal was to have lost 10 from last years visit but I'll take 9. I had to give up my gym membership b/c I don't have time to go. It sucks b/c my body looks terrible and there is not a section that is toned any longer :(
I need to run but wanted to pop in and post about why I haven't been posting. I hope after the first of the year to be able to have more time.
Happy Turkey Day to everyone!!!

Fall TV

I have not even slowed down to mention Project Runway this season. It kind of sucks for Jerrell to win the last competition and then get eliminated from going to Bryant Park with the bridesmaid competition. I really felt bad for him. I avoided all blogs or other forms of comments about Project Runway when fashion week is going on in New York. I don't want it to spoil it for me and announce ahead of time who the finalist were that made it to show a collection. I wasn't a fan of Kenley's wedding dress. To be honest it reminded me a little of Bjork's swan dress. I have enjoyed most of LeAnne's work and in my opinion they will all be very different.

I keep forgetting to watch Ugly Betty. I finally caught most of it tonight but didn't see the season opener last week, so I'm a little behind.

I think the Starter Wife starts tomorrow on the USA station. I watched the little mini series and am curious to see how the show does.

slow and steady

I found time tonight to work on the store. Yea me!!!
Even though I'm only teaching 5 classes, they seem to be consuming every last minute of my time. I gave up my membership to the gym b/c I haven't figured out how to fit it into my schedule. I'm really starting to miss that alone time to just workout and collect my thoughts and do something for my health. Hopefully I will find time after the first of the year to start back. I'm amazed at how long it takes to start making parts of your body look better but yet in a months time it can snap back to the old way it looked. In my case that would be cottage cheese looking. YUCK!

I sat down this evening and starting making out my Christmas shopping list. I really try to buy 1/3 in October, 1/3 in November and the other 1/3 in December. It seems to make it easier and also you don't have to pay for all of it at once.

About a week ago I got my mantle decorated and fixed up my dinning room table, hung my front door wreath, which by the way looks tooky, and got my Halloween flag up and flying.

Now if I could just find time to start cooking again on a regular schedule and remember to call my friends once a week things would be looking up.

It looks like my Monday McLovin has fallen to the waste side. Hope to get back on track with that too.
I hope by starting this new job that I haven't lost my few readers. I'm really going to try to do better, hang in there with me :)

one crazy week

It has been one crazy week. First off there were all kinds of activities going on at school and the kids were wild. I had something scheduled every night this past week, except Tuesday and then I talked to my mom this morning and my grandmother has fallen and they think broke her hip. This is the same hip that she had surgery on last year or the year before.

I haven't slowed down to do anything productive at my house except laundry and actually get it folded. I think I cooked one night this week.

I took my little boy to a high school football game last night and he had a good time. He cheered for the team, found a classmate to sit with and ate popcorn. I wasn't sure how he would do but overall I thought the experience went well.

Next I'm going to tackle taking him to see a movie at the movie theater. I haven't tried that yet. Maybe something this fall.

love this shot

I love this photo of my son.
I had a photographer take pictures of my son back in August and just recently I had all the proofs sent to me. My husband and I love this picture. I like that you can see the lighter and darker clouds, the other hay bales in the background and how his feet just hang over the edge.
We spent about 3 hours running around taking different pictures in different outfits. I wanted some non-traditional type pictures.
I don't show pictures of my child, so that is why the face is blacked out.

my life is crazy

I think I might have been temporarily insane when I thought it would be "fun" to go back to teaching part-time. My part-time job feels a lot more like FULL TIME. I love all my classes but one. It isn't me though b/c all the teachers are making comments about this particular group.

It wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't constantly reading ahead in the chapters, creating new test, new study guides or grading papers. If it were a class I had taught more than once then all I would really have to do is grade test but b/c they are new to me I'm working a lot more than I had anticipated.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those people who thinks teaching is easy or just a 8-3 job b/c I'm not. I taught before I had our son but just have been on a break raising him.

What is making it so much harder this time around teaching is I'm still trying to work at hubby's office and keep up with everything with the household. When I say everything I mean EVEYTHING. My husband mows the yard and keeps up with the pool. Pretty much anything else you can think of, I take care of.

I guess I needed to vent a little. I'm about to go fold 4 loads of laundry.

The good news is I'm leaving town tomorrow to go shop!!!!!!! I have been about to die to go shopping for about 3 weeks now and the hurricanes keep making it impossible to get out on the weekends.
I want to find some fall decorations for my house, along with some things at Sams and pretty much goof off.
